LAS VEGAS, May 15 (UPI) -- Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn of the duo Brooks and Dunn Tuesday received the Academy of Country Music Humanitarian Award in Las Vegas.

The award, presented during the 42nd annual Academy of Country Music Awards, recognizes a country music performer or group committed to serving others and helping others in need.

Brooks and Dunn, besides receiving a crystal award designed by Tiffany & Co., will have a community playground built in a city of their choice through The Home Depot and KaBOOM!, a non-profit organization that builds playgrounds in one-day, "barn-raising" construction events.

Brooks and Dunn said they would build their playground for the Shreveport-Bossier Community Renewal's Friendship House in Louisiana, the duo's Web site said.
