Brooks & Dunn win 14th Top Duo award

LAS VEGAS, May 15 (UPI) -- Country duo Brooks and Dunn won a record 14th Top Vocal Duo award Tuesday at the 42nd annual Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas.

"Not this year," Kix Brooks said the duo's desire not be stuck on the number 13.

"We still love what we're doing," Brooks said. "It's still as much fun as it's ever been. Thank you so much."

Trio Rascal Flatts, whose song "Stand" is on Billboard's country and Hot 100, was named the top vocal group.

With the Top Vocal Group win, Rascal Flatts tied with Alabama for the most consecutive wins in this category, five years running.

Members Gary LeVox, Joe Don Rooney and Jay DeMarcus all thanked God, their families and the group's record label, but especially "country radio for playing our music and the fans," LeVox said.
