Live Aid organizer criticizes Live Earth

LONDON, May 14 (UPI) -- British rocker and Live Aid organizer Bob Geldof has criticized the Live Earth concerts, saying they lack a specific goal.

The Live Earth concerts, organized by former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, are being held simultaneously in seven worldwide locations on July 7.

Geldof said Live Earth doesn't have a final goal, NME.com said. Since it lacks such a goal, he called the venture "an enormous pop concert."

"I hope they're a success," he said. "But why is (Gore) actually organizing them? To make us aware of the greenhouse effect? Everybody's known about that problem for years."
