HOLLYWOOD, May 10 (UPI) -- Actor Tim Roth will play the alter ego for the villainous Abomination, Hollywood's latest super-sized evil-doer challenging "The Incredible Hulk."

In taking the role as Emilo Blonsky, Roth joins Edward Norton and Liv Tyler in the Louis Leterrier-directed drama being financed by Marvel Studios and scheduled for release by Universal Pictures in June 2008, Variety reported Thursday.

According to the storyline, Blonsky is a KGB agent who deliberately exposes himself to the gamma rays that caused Bruce Banner to morph into the Hulk -- only upping the dosage to make him larger and stronger than the Hulk. Unable to return to human form, Blonsky blames Banner and vows to destroy the Hulk.

Roth stars this fall in "Youth Without Youth," directed by Francis Ford Coppola. He also appears with Naomi Watts in "Funny Games" for Warner Independent Pictures.
