Will Smith nervous about daughter dating
MADISON, Conn., May 10 (UPI) -- A book-signing in Connecticut by his wife marked the first public appearance for Don Imus since he was fired by CBS Radio a month ago.
Imus was at the Scranton Library in Madison, Conn., Wednesday in support of his wife Deirdre Imus, who signed copies of her book, "Green This," Hartford, Conn., television station NBC 30 reported Thursday.
"It raises money for the ranch, I'm happy about that," Imus said of the book-signing. The couple's ranch in New Mexico is a charitable organization for children with cancer, as well as siblings of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome victims.
Quizzed about being back in public, Imus stonily ignored the question.
The protest-free, book-signing event was supposed to have occurred weeks ago, the television station said, but was postponed when the controversial shock jock was fired from his morning radio show after making a racist comment about the Rutgers University women's basketball team.
The couple owns a home in Westport, Conn., and Deirdre Imus is from Waterbury, Conn.
