BASKING RIDGE, N.J., May 7 (UPI) -- Verizon Wireless has fired U.S. rap star Akon who imitated sexual positions with a 15-year-old girl during a performance in Trinidad.
TMZ.com reports a Verizon spokesperson says the company "made a decision this week to end the relationship." The spokesperson's only explanation was that the rapper is being let go for "reasons."
The Trinidad Express says Akon, also known as the "Smack That" rapper, turned, twisted and flipped the teen's body while "mimicking sexual positions." Another performer "sandwiched" the girl with Akon in a manner similar to an incident with Tara Reid during a Sundance Film Festival party.
The girl went onstage in hopes of winning a dance contest offering a trip to Africa as the prize. But when she won, the "trip" was actually the "on-stage encounter" the Express said. The girl's head reportedly hit the floor during the performance.
