LOS ANGELES, May 1 (UPI) -- The epic "300" captured five nominations to lead the pack vying for the coveted golden popcorn trophy in the 2007 MTV Movie Awards announced in Los Angeles.

Close behind "300" was "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" with four nominations, followed by Borat," "Blades of Glory," and "The Devil Wears Prada" with three nods each, Access Hollywood reported Monday.

The MTV awards show, which will air live for the first time ever, will be at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, Calif., on June 3 with comedian Sarah Silverman as host.

Competing for best picture honors are "300," "Blades of Glory," "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, "Little Miss Sunshine" and "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest."

Besides honoring movies for best picture and stars for their performances, the MTV awards also recognize the best kiss, best villain and best fight.

Fans can vote for their favorites by visiting movieawards.mtv.com before May 29. Viewers also can vote from their mobile phones or by calling a toll-free number.
