NEW YORK, April 26 (UPI) -- Daytime host Rachael Ray has launched the Yum-o! Organization, a non-profit charity centered around cooking and feeding hungry children in America.
"We've created Yum-o! to introduce more kids to cooking, which can have such a meaningful impact on their lives and health," Ray said in a news release.
Yum-o! will work in three areas: cooking education for children and their families, fighting hunger in America and funding scholarship programs for food-related careers.
"The Yum-o! Organization envisions a country where all kids realize the joy of cooking and eating great food," Ray said in the news release. "Eating habits are formed at a young age and, if kids are given opportunities and knowledge, they will make better food choices."
