LONDON, April 25 (UPI) -- Spinal Tap, the fictitious heavy metal band in the mock-umentary "This Is Spinal Tap," will reunite at London's Wembley Stadium for the Live Earth concerts.

The seven-venue series of worldwide concerts July 7 is taking place to help raise awareness of climate change.

All the band's original members -- Michael McKean as David St. Hubbins, Christopher Guest as Nigel Tufnel and Harry Shearer as Derek Smalls -- will be onstage, performing a new single, called "Warmer than Hell," Sky News reported Wednesday.

"This Is Spinal Tap" co-star and director Rob Reiner -- an eco-issues campaigner for two decades -- said he hoped the event will alert people about what can be done to help the environment, as well as make them laugh.

"(The members of Spinal Tap) are not that environmentally conscious, but they have heard of global warming," said Reiner.
