SAG adds awards for stunt ensembles

HOLLYWOOD, April 25 (UPI) -- The Screen Actors Guild announced it added two categories to honor Hollywood's film and television stunt ensembles.

The honorees in the two new categories will be announced prior to the televised SAG Awards next Jan. 27, Variety said Wednesday.

The nominees will be selected the same way as other movie and TV awards through two nominating committees, each made up of 2,100 randomly selected SAG members.

Members of the stunt performance community have lobbied the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for several years to add a category for stunts but have not been successful.
