Guns N' Roses cancel concerts

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa, April 23 (UPI) -- The largest outdoor rock concert in South Africa is without a major headliner after Guns N' Roses pulled out because of an injury to bassist Tommy Stinson.

The group's planned appearances at My Coke Fest concerts in Johannesburg on April 27 and Cape Town on May 1 were billed as the start of a world tour, Billboard said Monday.

"Stinson recently sprained his left wrist in a fall and the injury has not yet healed. As a result, Guns N' Roses will not make their two scheduled performances at My Coke Fest in South Africa at the end of the month," said a statement from promoter Big Concerts. Several other shows in Australia, New Zealand and Japan also were postponed indefinitely.

Organizers said Guns N' Roses fans who no longer want to attend the events can receive full refunds.
