NEW YORK, April 16 (UPI) -- Keith Olbermann, host of "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" on New York's MSNBC, will return to sports as co-host for NBC's Sunday night football telecasts.

Olbermann, who recently re-upped his popular news and views show, will join host Bob Costas, and analysts Jerome Bettis, Tiki Barber and Cris Collinsworth on NBC's "Football Night in America," NFL.com said. Olbermann will narrate highlights, and discuss NFL news and issues.

He sat behind a sports desk six years ago as host of post-season baseball coverage for Fox. Before that, Olbermann anchored ESPN's "SportsCenter" from 1992-97.
