Madonna not seeking second adoption

LILONGWE, Malawi, April 13 (UPI) -- Madonna has not returned to Malawi to adopt another child, her spokeswoman said.

Several news outlets reported the singer was planning to adopt a second child from the south African country, Sky News reported Friday. She adopted an 18-month-old boy from an orphanage in Malawi last year.

Spokeswoman Liz Rosenberg said Madonna was returning to the country to "continue her work with the Raising Malawi organization," which assists orphans in the country.

"She is overseeing the building of a children's healthcare center," Rosenberg said. "She is absolutely not adopting another baby."
