Prince William to donate to Diana's cause

LONDON, April 8 (UPI) -- Britain's Prince William has asked for a more hands-on role in his late mother's charity.

William's decision comes with the 10th anniversary of Princess Diana's death less than five months away, the Daily Mail reported. The Princess of Wales Memorial Fund is dedicated to carrying on Diana's humanitarian work.

William is reportedly set to begin inheriting his mother's fortune on his 25th birthday. William and Prince Harry are also getting more involved in the concert and memorial to mark the anniversary of her death.

"It's the right time for William to get involved and protect his mother's legacy and continue her work," said a Royal source.

William gets the first installment of his mother's fortune in June, and said he wants to donate a large part of 300,000 pounds ($590,000 dollars) to the fund, the Mail reported.
