LOS ANGELES, April 7 (UPI) -- The popular cartoon show "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" is making the jump from television to the big screen.
It hits the movie theaters Friday.
The film, "Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters," is as virtually plotless, often gory and brain numbing as the television show, the Los Angeles Times reported Saturday.
The movie is like a long episode of the show and is completely two-dimensional animation, but took more than two years to complete, the report said.
The teaser clips for the film released online fed hopes that the movie would give meaning to the show's meaningless premise, but instead, fans get 75 minutes of even more wild and out-there material, the Times said.
The creators of "Aqua Teen Hunger Force," Matt Maiellaro and Dave Willis, started writing the movie in their spare time before asking Adult Swim, a Turner Broadcasting System network on Cartoon Network, to help fund the film, which ultimately cost $1 million.
