Nickelodeon Choice draws monster numbers

LOS ANGELES, April 2 (UPI) -- Six million-plus viewers watched Nickelodeon's 20th annual Kids' Choice Awards in Los Angeles and nearly 41 million votes were cast.

With Justin Timberlake hosting the Saturday night show opposite the NCAA Men's Final Four, Nickelodeon's awards program beat last year's record performance by 3 percent, the network said in a news release Monday. The 40.8 million votes cast by cell phone and online for a variety of "favorites" in movies, music and sports was a jump of 54 percent from last year.

The star-studded telecast featured celebrities such as Jack Black, Will Ferrell, Hilary Duff, Tobey MacGuire, Queen Latifah and Nelly, as well as music by Gwen Stefani, Akon and Maroon 5.
