NEW YORK, March 25 (UPI) -- Black Sabbath is set to play a sold out show at Radio City in New York on Friday, but, they will be playing under the alias Heaven and Hell.
"You can call us 'Mayor Koch' if you want to," said vocalist Ronnie James Dio. "What we're called doesn't matter, but on the Internet they call us Black Sabbath, because that's really what we are."
Dio was Black Sabbath's second most popular vocalist after Ozzy Osbourne, the New York Post reported Sunday.
Dio sang lead vocals on the band's "Heaven and Hell" and "Mob Rules" albums and tours in the early 1980s.
"They were virtually a nonentity when we did 'Heaven and Hell,' " said Dio, who joined the band shortly after Ozzy's meltdown in the late 1970s. "My inclusion put a different signature on the band and captured the imagination of people who had no idea what came before."
The new tour was started after the release of Rhino Records' "Black Sabbath: The Dio Years."
