DETROIT, March 23 (UPI) -- The woman who accused Kid Rock of assault now faces civil action after the rapper filed a lawsuit in Oakland County, Mich., Circuit Court.

Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, seeks unspecified damages against Kelly Kozlowski, saying she falsely accused him of physically assaulting him when she and others visited his Detroit-area home, the Detroit Free Press said.

In the lawsuit, the rapper claimed her story harmed his reputation.

Oakland County prosecutors did not seek a warrant against Kid Rock after Kozlowski filed a complaint with the sheriff's office. Investigators said the evidence did not support her claims that the singer grabbed her by the neck and threw her into a snowbank.
