NASSAU, Bahamas, March 19 (UPI) -- Hotel security in the Bahamas detained a woman who allegedly has been following Larry Birkhead, Anna Nicole Smith's ex-lover, a report said Monday.

Birkhead said the woman was detained Sunday night by security at the Atlantis hotel where he was staying in the Bahamas for a custody hearing on Smith's 6-month-old daughter, Dannielynn, "Access Hollywood" said.

Birkhead said the woman had approached people at the hotel allegedly offering to pay to find out which room was his.

The hotel declined to comment.

Prior to showing up in the Bahamas, the woman also was in Florida during custody hearings for Smith's body for burial purposes, Birkhead told "Access Hollywood."

"I don't want to be mean to anybody, but at the same time, I have to protect myself and my safety," Birkhead said. "She was like, 'Do you remember me from Florida?' and I'm like, 'Yes, how are you? Have a nice day.' But then it was like 'You can't get in the car with me.' So, you know. I'm not going to say she was anything but supportive, but it just crossed the line as far as invading my personal space."
