NEW YORK, March 13 (UPI) -- The 2007 Tribeca Film Festival, a fixture in New York for six years, announced the lineups for its competitions and film events for fans of edgier fare.

The 2007 festival will present 159 feature films and 85 shorts selected from more than 4,500 submissions, festival officials said in a news release.

The Tribeca Film Festival runs April 25-May 6.

Eighteen narrative features and 16 documentary features -- including 10 world premieres -- will compete for combined unrestricted cash prizes totaling $100,000 in the World Narrative and World Documentary categories.

The non-competition Spotlight will present both narrative and documentary films created by filmmakers such as Michael Apted, John Dahl, Patrice Leconte and Shane Meadows.

"This year's festival presents diverse, original, and, most of all, good storytelling, which will encourage dialogue, entertain and celebrate filmmaking," said Jane Rosenthal, co-founder of the Tribeca Film Festival.
