LONDON, March 11 (UPI) -- British supermodel Kate Moss said her new fashion line was inspired by a series of photographs of New York's famed Studio 54 nightclub.
The celebrated model said that she based her new clothes on photos of the celebrated disco club in an attempt to make her fashions more "edgy," The Independent on Sunday said.
"I thought it should be a bit... edgy. Just because you're wearing a pretty dress it doesn't have to be all pretty-pretty," the 33-year-old Moss said. "I'd just got this book of photographs about that club Studio 54, and I wanted it more like that."
The supermodel, who burst onto the fashion scene at 15, said that she decided to create the new line for Topshop after choosing a high-street collection approach.
"I'd talked to lots of people in the business about designing my own thing. Everyone said I should do something but I didn't want to be a designer and have to do shows and all of that," she said.
Moss' fashion line is set to be released on May 1.
