'Melrose Place' couple not really in love

LOS ANGELES, March 11 (UPI) -- Reports of former "Melrose Place" costars Heather Locklear and Jack Wagner being a couple have been dispelled by the pals of both actors.

The two have reportedly been spotted together multiple times, sometimes even holding hands, but close friends told People magazine that they are not sparking a Hollywood romance.

"(They) have been friends since Melrose Place," said a friend of Wagner's, referring to when the pair played lovers who ended up marrying on the 90's prime-time soap opera. "There's definitely no change in their relationship. They (just) went out with a bunch of her friends."

But, an onlooker who spotted them at Mr. Chow on March 1 said, "They were holding hands and really focused on each other."

A friend of Locklear's says that hand holding does not mean a relationship. "She holds her friends' hands all the time." "Men, women -- it doesn't mean anything."
