LOS ANGELES, March 9 (UPI) -- A hoped for reunion tour of the rock group Van Halen may take a little longer as Eddie Van Halen announced he has entered a rehabilitation facility.

Van Halen said he was entering a rehab program "to work on myself, so that in the future I can deliver the 110 percent that I feel I owe you and want to give you," he said in a statement posted on the band's Web site.

While some issues regarding the band are beyond his influence, seeking treatment "is within my ability to change and change for the better," he said.

Van Halen, 52, has been treated for alcohol addiction twice.

The band Van Halen is scheduled to be inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame during a ceremony Monday in New York, but only one original member of the group, bassist Michael Anthony, was expected to attend.
