PARIS, March 9 (UPI) -- Actress Salma Hayek not only is engaged to French fashion tycoon Francois-Henri Pinault, but also expecting her first child, her publicist confirmed.

Neither a wedding date nor a due date was revealed, E! News said.

"Businessman Francois-Henri Pinault and his fiancee, Salma Hayek, are happy to announce that they are expecting the arrival of their first child," publicist Ina Treciokas said.

Pinault is the CEO of Pinault-Printemps-Redoute, which owns fashion houses Gucci, Stella McCartney and Yves Saint Laurent, as well as the French department store Printemps and other retail holdings. His family also owns several French newspapers and a European soccer club.

This will be the first marriage for Hayek, who was nominated for an Academy Award for her portrayal of the title character in "Frida."
