Bob Seger says no more touring this year

DETROIT, March 6 (UPI) -- Bob Seger has opted against continuing his "Face the Promise" concert tour after next week's shows in his home town of Detroit.

Despite offers to go on the road this summer, Seger elected to stay home to spend time with his two children and consider what he wants to do next.

"I figure I'll take six or seven months (off) and just write and that's all, maybe a little bit of recording, nothing else, definitely don't play with the band," Seger said.

"Then I'll just reassess in October and say, 'How do I feel?' Do I want to start another record and do the thing the following summer or the following fall?' or something. That's a good way to approach it, I think."

Seger has six more dates on the tour, which wraps March 17 at Cobo Arena. He filmed some December shows for a possible DVD and live album but said he wasn't happy with the results and may try again before the tour ends.
