LONDON, March 5 (UPI) -- Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, is "recovering well" at a London hospital following a hysterectomy, a spokesperson for the royal family said.

Camilla, 59, had the procedure at the King Edward VII hospital where she is expected to stay until the weekend.

Clarence House described the operation as not cancer-related, the BBC said Monday. Recovery time is expected to last about six weeks.

The duchess returned several days ago from a 10-day tour of the Gulf states with Charles, Prince of Wales.
