DEDHAM, Mass., March 1 (UPI) -- Singer Bobby Brown has been released from a Massachusetts jail after he paid $19,000 in back child support, authorities said.
Brown was arrested during the weekend at his daughter's high school cheerleading competition for having failed to pay support to Kim Ward, mother of two of his children, Vibe magazine said Thursday. He spent three nights in jail.
Brown didn't meet the payments because they had become too high since the payment schedule was established at the height of his career, said his attorney Phaedra Parks.
"Although this agreement was put in place when he was Bobby Brown the star, this agreement is being enforced when he is not always able to find work," Parks said. "He hasn't made an album in quite some years."
