NEW YORK, March 1 (UPI) -- NBC's evening news, bested by ABC in two of the past three ratings periods, may undergo a shakeup in executive producers for the New York-based show.
Several NBC executives said a change in the network's "Nightly News With Brian Williams" has been in the works for several weeks and wasn't related to the latest ratings results, The New York Times said Thursday.
Steve Capus, president of NBC News, would not confirm whether any decision was made about replacing John Reiss as executive producer. He did, however, say NBC experienced surges by ABC during other special rating periods, known as sweeps months.
ABC's "World News" is anchored by veteran journalist Charles Gibson. CBS' "Nightly News" is anchored by Katie Curic.
