Scorsese, Jagger hook up for film

LONDON, Feb. 28 (UPI) -- Director Martin Scorsese, fresh from winning his first Oscar for "The Departed" and Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger will team up to make a movie.

Scorsese will direct "The Long Play," a film about two friends and their lives in rock music, the BBC said. Jagger, who had the idea a few years ago, will produce the film with his business partner, Victoria Pearman.

Screenwriter William Monahan, who won an Oscar for his screenplay adaptation for "The Departed," is slated to write "The Long Play" screenplay.

This is the second time that Scorsese, 64, and Jagger, 63, worked on a project together. They recently collaborated on a feature-length documentary about the Rolling Stones, scheduled to be released this year.
