Both Peet and daughter Frances Pen were "resting comfortably," People magazine said.

The baby was born Tuesday.

Peet, 35, most recently starred on the TV series "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip," and appeared in films such as "Syriana," "The Whole Nine Yards" and "Something's Gotta Give."

Benioff, 36, wrote the screenplays for "Troy" and "25th Hour."
