Spank Rock to headline Disco D tribute

NEW YORK, Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Hip-hop group Spank Rock will headline a tribute in New York for Disco D, who committed suicide in January.

The 27-year-old producer, whose real name was Dave Shayman, was known for his work with 50 Cent and Trick Daddy, and his remixes of Pharrell Williams, Shiny Toy Guns and Usher, NME.com said.

The Feb. 21 show also will include DJ sets from Stretch Armstrong, DJ Funk and Derek Plaslaiko. Proceeds from the event will go to the Neutral Zone, a center that offers programs related to music and music production.
