11th annual ADG Awards given out

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Feb. 18 (UPI) -- The Art Directors Guild's Excellence in Production Design Awards in Beverly Hills, Calif., tapped "Casino Royale" as the best contemporary film.

The other two big winners of Saturday night were, "Curse of the Golden Flower" for best period film and "Pan's Labyrinth" for best fantasy film, the Hollywood Reporter said.

Production designer Dean Tavoularis received an honorary award for lifetime achievement and Terry Gillam was given an award for outstanding contribution to cinematic imagery.

The 11th annual Art Directors Guild's Excellence in Production Design Awards ceremony was were held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, the Reporter said Sunday.

Other winners included television's "Ugly Betty" for best single camera TV series, "MAD TV" for best multi-camera TV series, "Stephen King's Desperation" for best TV movie or mini-series and "The 58th Annual Emmy Awards" for variety or awards show, music special or documentary.
