Singer good for Grammys, but not 'Idol'

HOLLYWOOD, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Robyn Troup, a Houston singer, was good enough to perform with Justin Timberlake during the Grammys but not for "American Idol," where she was eliminated.

Troup, 19, made it through the first round in Hollywood but was sent packing during the group performance round when she sang with fellow Texas contestant Sundance Head and another woman, Variety said. Her disqualification was based on her not performing well enough for the judges.

For the "My Grammy Moment" contest, Troup beat out thousands of other contestants who submitted videos of unaccompanied singing. Grammy viewers voted online to select a winner.

Troup's being an "Idol" contestant was not mentioned during the Grammy competition.
