LONDON, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- A British studio will film a drama about a Brazilian man killed by London police in the aftermath of the deadly 2005 subway bombings.
The Mango Films project will focus on events before the death of Jean Charles de Menezes -- whom police mistook for a suicide bomber -- and its impact on London's Brazilian community, the BBC said. Stephen Frears, who directed "The Queen," is executive producer.
Menezes died at Stockwell station in south London July 22, 2005, two weeks after suicide bombings in London killed 52 people.
Director Henrique Goldman said the film would be a "human" story rather political.
"I think the public knows a lot about this story, but they don't know who Jean Charles was, and who suffered because he died," Goldman said.
Filming is scheduled to begin this summer.
