CLEVELAND, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- R&B singer Gerald Levert died from an accidental combination of over-the-counter medications and prescription drugs, a Cleveland coroner ruled.

The Grammy-nominated star had pain killers, anxiety medication and allergy drugs in his bloodstream when he died Nov. 10 at the age of 40.

Coroner Kevin Chartrand ruled the official cause of death was acute intoxication and that it was accidental, NME.com said Tuesday. The coroner also said Levert was suffering from pneumonia when he died.

Levert had a Top 10 hit, "Casanova," with the trio Levert in 1987 and hits "(Pop, Pop, Pop, Pop) Goes My Mind" in 1986 and "Funny" in 2002.
