LOS ANGELES, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- TV star Farrah Fawcett is free of cancer after a difficult round of treatment at the University of California, Los Angeles, a report says.
Fawcett, 60, revealed to the public that she has cancer in October, 2006. Since before then, she's been undergoing intense treatment and is now officially free of cancer, People Magazine reported Saturday.
Fawcett described her "extraordinarily happy day" in a statement.
"In the face of excruciating pain and uncertainly, I never lost hope and it never occurred to me to stop fighting -- not ever," the statement read. Fawcett added that she hoped others struggling with cancer would be inspired by her story.
Fawcett's agent told People she plans to return to work within the next few months. She is best known for her work on the 1970s TV show "Charlie's Angels."
