Al Franken to leave Air America

NEW YORK, Jan. 30 (UPI) -- Air America Radio, just rescued from bankruptcy, faces the loss of its most popular host, Al Franken.

Franken told his listeners on the liberal radio network that his last day would be Feb. 14.

Franken did not say whether he would challenge U.S. Sen. Norm Coleman, R-Minn., when he is up for re-election in 2008 in Franken's home state of Minnesota, The Washington Times said.

"I'm definitely giving it some serious consideration and I'll make my decision soon," Franken said.

A deal was struck Monday to sell the Air America to SLG Radio LLC of New York. The sale is expected to be completed in mid-February for an undisclosed sum.
