DALLAS, Jan. 26 (UPI) -- Some of Texas' biggest names in entertainment are providing memorabilia to raise scholarship funds for students wanting to pursue artistic careers.

Singers Willie Nelson, Jessica Simpson and Kinky Friedman, actor Larry Hagman and world renowned painter Peter Max are among those donating items to The Aetheria Foundation for auction Feb. 10; the money will go to The Aetheria Fund at Communities Foundation of Texas, the foundation said in a news release.

Some of the items up for bid include original art from Cirque du Soleil; Hagman's signature hat worn as the character JR Ewing from "Dallas," a pair of boots signed by Simpson and a guitar from country singer Nelson. Max also will contribute an original piece designed specifically for the Aetheria event, organizers said.
