LONDON, Jan. 23 (UPI) -- Producer Mark Abraham said he asked British actor Clive Owen to portray fictional American detective Philip Marlowe in a film project.

If the project comes to fruition, it would be a reunion for the two. Abraham was one of the producers on "Children of Men," which starred Owen, Empireonline.com said Tuesday.

It hasn't been determined which Raymond Chandler story will be filmed. Others who played the world-weary but idealistic sleuth include Humphrey Bogart, Robert Mitchum, Dick Powell and Elliot Gould.
