CARTERSVILLE, Ga., Jan. 18 (UPI) -- Grammy-winning singer Usher was fined and sentenced to perform community service by a Georgia county court judge for a speeding incident last summer.

The Georgia native appeared in Bartow County Probate Court to answer the citation he received July 4, when police clocked him going 103 mph in a 70-mph zone, Eonline.com said.

Judge Mitchell Scoggins fined Usher $425 and ordered him to perform 20 hours of community service. It was unclear what type of service Usher -- whose full name is Usher Raymond -- will perform, or how long he has to complete the sentence. Scoggins said Usher could perform the service near his home in Fulton, Ga.
