NASHVILLE, Jan. 19 (UPI) -- American country music icons Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson and Ray Price teamed up to record "Last of the Breed," their first recording project as a trio.

The two-disc album features 20 classic country songs -- including "Heartaches By the Number," "Night Watch" and "Sweet Memories" -- as well as more recent hits such as Nelson's "Back To Earth," said Lost Highway Records in a news release.

Vince Gill and Kris Kristofferson provide backup vocals on some of the tracks.

Haggard, Nelson and Price -- all Country Music Hall of Famers -- plan to tour in March to promote "Last of the Breed" with Asleep at the Wheel serving as backup.

"Last of the Breed" is scheduled for a March 20 release.
