Judd offers aging advice in 'Boomers'

NEW YORK, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- U.S. country music singer Naomi Judd has advice for people facing the effects of aging in her new book, "Naomi's Guide to Aging Gratefully."

The six-time Grammy award winner, 61, has filled the book with advice she has collected on how to accept the effects of aging and accept yourself for who you are, CBS reported.

"It's that old thing about when you can't control the way things are, you know, we can't control our circumstances. But the good news is we get to control our reaction to our circumstances," Judd said. "Change is inevitable, aging is inevitable."

In "Naomi's Guide to Aging Gratefully: Facts, Myths, and Good News for Boomers," Judd said that by embracing life and maintaining a sense of humor, one can add another 7 ½ years onto his or her life.

"You have to roll with the punches in life and have a sense of humor," Judd said. "It's one of the things that allowed me to be here."
