Dennis Miller to launch radio talk show

NEW YORK, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Comedian and satirist Dennis Miller has signed on to host a three-hour syndicated U.S. talk show on Westwood One.

Miller will discuss the day's news, take listeners' calls and interview guests when "The Dennis Miller Show" goes on the air in March.

A release from Westwood One Wednesday said that the show would be Miller's first radio gig after winning five television Emmy's and four Writers' Guild Awards.

"This seems like a great fit for me since I grew up in Pittsburgh where broadcast radio was born. I always knew I would try radio and right now seems like the perfect time," Miller said.

In addition to hosting "The Dennis Miller Show," he will continue to tour, perform at corporate dates, and create and star in new television comedy specials.

Miller resides in Santa Barbara, Calif., and has been reported to be a registered Republican, although he isn't shy about skewering politicians of every stripe. Most recently, he provided color commentary for ABC's "Monday Night Football" before it moved to ESPN on cable.
