LONDON, Jan. 9 (UPI) -- British Soap opera star Robert Kazinsky has been suspended from the "EastEnders" by BBC executives because of an alleged sex scandal.

The 23-year-old actor, who plays the show's womanizing Sean Slater, was suspended for sending a model a number of obscene text messages and pictures, Britain's Daily Mail reported Tuesday.

This is not the first scandal that "EastEnders" has seen. Leslie Grantham was written off the show for taking part in Web cam sex sessions from his dressing room in Elstree Studios.

Kazinsky will be allowed to continue filming until February, when he will be written off the show for two months.

An EastEnders spokesman said: "Following the story in the Sunday People on January 7, 2007, 'EastEnders' executive producer Diederick Santer has taken the decision to suspend Robert Kazinsky from early February for a period of two months."

"In addition, Robert Kazinsky would like to apologize for any offense caused to 'EastEnders'' viewers and for bringing the show into disrepute," he added.
