Lynch set to enjoy hectic 2007 schedule

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 7 (UPI) -- Hollywood cult film director David Lynch is set to enjoy a very hectic year -- with a new film, a book, an art show and a line of coffee and furniture.

The New York Post reported that on top of those endeavors, the "Eraserhead" director will also go on a U.S. promotional tour for his film "Inland Empire" and its lead, actress Laura Dern.

Lynch, who also worked with Dern in "Wild At Heart" and "Blue Velvet," created his new film through a series of shorts made for the Internet, the Post said, and will promote the film and Dern's Oscar campaign by traveling the country.

"I think the success of the film has something to do with the hand-delivery of it," 60-year-old director said. "The word on the street is what really makes or breaks a film, so big advertising isn't the only way to get a movie seen."

Meanwhile the newspaper said Lynch's Signature Cup of coffee will likely launch in January, while the director will offer insights into his creative process in his upcoming book, "Catching the Big Fish: Meditation, Consciousness and Creativity."
