LAS VEGAS, Jan. 3 (UPI) -- Grammy Award-winning singer Usher managed to avoid peer pressure from actor Jamie Foxx to do an alcoholic shot during a New Year's Eve party in Las Vegas.

The 28-year-old singer had been onstage with Foxx during a holiday celebration in the Nevada city, when the "Ray" star attempted to pressure Usher to take a celebratory shot of alcohol, TMZ.com reported.

Yet Usher, whose full name is Usher Raymond IV, maintained his composure and politely refused Foxx's alcoholic offering.

As the "Confessions" singer passed his shot onto a nearby woman, Foxx responded with a physical shot of his own as he motioned with his hand toward Usher, all the time holding a bottle of champagne in his other hand, TMZ.com said.
