Set diets behind celebrities' weight loss

GLENDALE, Calif., Jan. 2 (UPI) -- U.S. actresses Kirstie Alley and Leah Remini, along with NFL star Dan Marino, have revealed set diets were the key to their recent weight losses.

Speaking with TV's "Extra," each of the celebrities confessed that the major weight losses they each enjoyed were thanks to their dedication to professionally organized diets and programs.

Remini, who earned fame as Carrie Heffernan on "The King of Queens," said she lost 80 pounds after giving birth to her first child through the use of the First Personal Diet.

Meanwhile, former "Cheers" star Kirstie Alley said she lost her "Fat Actress" designation and 75 pounds via a series of professional standards and practices from Jenny Craig, Inc.

While Dan Marino only lost 22 pounds overall, the former Miami Dolphins quarterback credited his hard work and a Nutri-System diet for his weight-loss success.

"It's like everything, you have to work at it," Marino admitted to "Extra." "But you do see the results pretty quickly."
