LOS ANGELES, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- Disney Pictures intends to open its upcoming U.S. horror film "Primeval" early, but doesn't say why.
The film will open on Jan. 12, four months before it's original release date of April 13, Dark Horizons reported.
The announcement was made Tuesday. "Primeval" stars Dominic Purcell and Orlando Jones.
Disney did not comment on why the sudden move was made. One possibility, Dark Horizons reported, is that January has proven to be a big seller with horror films. Also, no other horror competitors are expected to be in theaters at the time.
"Primeval" follows a U.S. news crew on a trek through a remote area of Africa to search for and capture a vicious, bloodthirsty murderer.
