NEW YORK, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- The son of the Rev. Jim Jones has given an interview for a two-hour U.S. television documentary on the 1978 Jonestown tragedy.

Stephan Jones provides insight into the People's Temple and their eventual mass suicide at the South American jungle compound named after his father.

The interview is part of "Jonestown: Paradise Lost," scheduled to air Jan. 15 on the History Channel.

Jim Jones allegedly directed some 900 of his followers to kill themselves with a poisoned drink after his guards opened fire on a delegation led by Rep. Leo Ryan that had flown to Guyana to bring back some of Jones' followers.
