SHANGHAI, Dec. 24 (UPI) -- China's People's Literature Publishing House is set to publish the first "legal" Agatha Christie novels in their country.
The PLPH director of the project department, Sun Shunlin, announced the news on Saturday, the Xinhua News agency reported.
PLPH, which is China's biggest publisher of literature, bought the copyright for Christie's works novels from her agent in Britain. The release of the author's works in Chinese will also mark the 30th anniversary of her death.
They will first release a collection of 14 stories, including famous tales such as "Death on the Nile," "Murder in the Calais Coach" and "Hercule Poirot," said Shunlin.
In 2007, another 32 of Christie's books, including "The Murder of Roger Ackroyd" and "Murder on the Orient Express," will be translated into Chinese and published by PLPH.
